my80hours works without an account. What you enter is saved on your phone unless you choose to turn on backup.

Without backup (the default)

Your hours, places, pay amounts, notes, photos, letters, signatures, name, phone number and state are saved only in your web browser’s storage on your device. They are not sent to us. If you clear your browser data or lose your phone, they are gone unless you made a backup file.

With backup turned on

If you sign in with your email to turn on backup, we store your email address and a copy of everything listed above, including your photos and documents, in your private account so you can get it back on any phone. It is stored by Amazon Web Services in the United States, encrypted, and only reachable by you after signing in. We use it only to keep your backup and sign you in. We never sell it, never share it with your state or anyone else, and don’t use it for ads. You can delete your backup and account at any time in the app (More → Delete my backup); that removes our copy right away.

Letter links

When you send a letter for someone to sign, the letter’s details (organization, dates, hours, your first and last name, and your phone number if you entered it) are packed into the part of the link after the “#”. Browsers do not send that part to our server. The person who signs sends the signed letter back to you the same way. Anyone you share a link with can read what’s in it, so only send it to the person who will sign.

What we do collect

We use PostHog, an analytics service, to count page visits and simple events like “a letter was created” or “a packet was made,” along with general device and browser information and an approximate location derived from your IP address. We remove the “#” part of every link before anything is counted, and we don’t record what you type. We don’t sell data and there are no ads.

Our web host (Amazon Web Services) keeps standard server logs of page and backup requests, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting, for up to 30 days.

Fonts

Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the fonts load.
